Das Bild «Symbiose» wurde auf einer runden Leinwand gemalt.
Auf dem Bild erkennt der Betrachter ein Kolibri mit drei Bienen auf einem Stehbrunnen.
Hinter dieser Szenerie befindet sich eine nackte Frau. Ihre Haltung verrät uns dass sie sich frei und unbeobachtet fühlt. Eine Symbiose zwischen Mensch und Natur. Ein Zusammenleben zweier Lebensweisen verschiedener Arten zu beiderseitigem Vorteil.
Dieses Bild wurde an der Kunstausstellung MUBA 2019 aufgestellt.

Kein Tag vergeht, ohne dass Monika Biermann den Kontakt zur Natur sucht. Bei jeder Wetterlage setzt sie sich den Eindrücken der Landschaft aus und begegnet ihr täglich mit neuem Blick: Selbst vertraute Gegenden nehmen Tag für Tag ein neues Gesicht an – in Abhängigkeit der Jahreszeit, der Wetterbedingungen, der Lichtstimmung, und nicht zuletzt der eigenen «gefärbten» Wahrnehmung als mächtiges Instrument jedes künstlerich Tätigen.
Dabei erfasst sie Naturstimmungen auf eine Art, die an die grossen Impressionisten errinert: Ihr Interesse gilt in erste Linie der subjektiven Erfahrung und Darstellung von Landschaft. Sanfte, harmonische Farbübergabe bestehen neben kontrastreichen Farbkombinationen, die mit schneller Geste nebeneinander gesetzt wurden. Man findet zarte Pastelltöne ebenso wie intensive, kraftvolle Farbnuansen oder «geerdete», abgedunkelte Farben als Vorboten der Nacht. Überblickt man ihr gesamtes Werk, gewinnt man den Einduck, durch ein kaleidoskop zu blicken: ihre Werke liefern geradezu ein „Panoptikum“ an möglichen Farbstimmungen und zauberhaften Licht- und Schattenspielen.
